Climate Committee

Climate Committee

Each year, Plymouth Elementary, and all of Colonial School District, participates as a "No Place for Hate" school. As a No Place for Hate school we participate in activities and conversations to help stop bullying, learn about different cultures, and build respect for ourselves and others.

The climate of our building is important. Every month, our school participates in different learning opportunities for students to grow their cultural and social awareness. At the beginning of each month, a climate newsletter is emailed out to each classroom and the newsletter includes information about our different climate activities for the month. The October newsletter is linked here for your viewing.

As part of the newsletter, we also share videos about different cultures. We invite families to send in personal videos or pictures of observances that are important to you! For example, we have had families send in videos or pictures sharing about Yom Kippur, Ramadan, National American Indian Heritage Month, etc. We welcome you to send in your own videos or pictures to this link. The calendar of observances throughout the school year is linked HERE to take a look.

To introduce No Place for Hate for our new students, our climate video was viewed by each classroom to kickstart our school year! Feel free to watch the video and talk with your students about it.

Thank you,
