PWHS junior Ace Cratin qualifies for Region Orchestra

Congratulations to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School junior Ace Cratin who will be performing in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Region IV Orchestra on bassoon.

The Plymouth Whitemarsh High School junior qualified for the ensemble after a competitive audition process at PMEA District 11 Orchestra. District 11 features the finest musicians from Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Cratin, along with PWHS junior Katie Abai, participated in District Orchestra earlier this month at Spring-Ford High School. The ensemble performed under the baton of conductor Matthew Brown, who is the Orchestra Director at American University in Washington, D.C. Repertoire included Veneration for Orchestra by Harbach, Serenade for String Orchestra by Elgar, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, as well as music from the movie franchise How To Train Your Dragon.

The Region IV Orchestra festival also includes musicians from Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties and will take place February 20-22 at the Girard Academic Music Program school in Philadelphia.
